Matt Mercier CTA/CIO-Partner
Matt began his professional career as an IT developer at Intel, where he
built one of Intel's first-ever enterprise systems based on Microsoft's SQL
Server database. "SQL Server v4.2 for OS/2" was a new product released
that year, and Matt has been heavily involved with SQL Server ever since.
After Intel, he entered the IT consulting world in 1995 as part of UDP, Inc
(which later became Cotelligent). At UDP, Matt lead architecture and
development teams in delivering solutions for a variety of local
companies, including James River, Associated Press, CorVel, Nike, and
First Interstate Bank.
During this time, Matt also became an MS Certified Trainer for
SQL Server, and taught SQL Server Development, Adminstration, and
Performance Tuning to hundreds of local-area developers.
In early 1999, Matt left UDP to form a Database and Web
Technologies consulting company with his brother. In 2001, Matt started
OnDemandAnalysis, LLC, with a friend and former co-worker from UDP. Both
companies continue to thrive today. BPM NW is his latest venture, and will
focus specifically on Data Warehousing and Cognos solutions in key verticals, such as health care.
When not extolling the virtues of Dimensional Modeling to anyone who
will listen, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, running,
and travel to sunny destinations in his relentless pursuit of the perfect
margarita.
